Welcome

Welcome to the Bioethics Libguide!

This guide has information on all the bioethics-related resources available via the

Brown Library.

Librarians are available all hours the library is open to assist you with any questions about library research and services you may have.

To reach a USF Librarian by phone please call 815.740.5041 or 800.726.6500 where you will be able to speak with the reference librarian on duty.

To email Brown Library, you can complete the online form or send an email to refdesk@stfrancis.edu

Chat reference is available during library hours through the Meebo chat box (available in the right-hand column). Please open all links sent via chat in a new tab or window as opening them in the same window will navigate away from the chat pages and break the connection.

Develop a Search Strategy

  • Choose a topic based on your assignment.
  • Turn your topic into a thesis statement.
  • Pull out the keywords, the main concepts, from your research question.
  • Find synonyms for your keywords - they give you more options for search terms. (Use a thesaurus!)
  • Broaden or narrow your results by using Boolean Operators.
  • Begin your search!
